Charge/Discharge System Controller : 2 Models



Outline

PFX2511 is a high performance Charge/Discharge system controller that enables measuring charge/discharge voltage and current of secondary batteries with high precision by combining our DC power supply and electronic load.
In these years, voltage (number of stack) and capacity (Ah value) of secondary batteries have become varied, and it is required to support the diversity for characteristic evaluation and the test equipment. However, general purpose test equipment cannot support measuring and evaluating large capacity batteries. Therefore, there was no choice but make the special system.
The PFX2511 equips with our technology of Charge/Discharge control and high accurate measurement required for battery characteristic evaluation. Combination of our DC power supply, electric load and the PFX2511 realizes configuring high precision battery test system with ease.

Note: To configure the charge and discharge test system, it the selected Kikusui's power supply, electronic load, a PC, and communication control unit (PFX2121) are required.

The entire operation can be managed by the application software (standard accessory)
The "BPChecker 2000 Basic Edition", a standard accessory, can manage the entire operation from the setting of the test conditions, the execution of the test, and analyzing the test result files. This software can controll the thermostatic chambers (manufactured by ESPEC) and also applies to the synchronized test with the thermostatic chambers.

The recommended operating environment :
CPU: Pentium IV 1GHz or higher / Memory 512 MB or more / Windows 2000 Professional (SP4 + Update Roll up1), Windows XP (SP2 or later with Intel x86) or Windows Vista (Intel x86,x64) / USB interface (GPIB interface is required for controlling the thermostatic chamber)


The figure shows the overlapped graph of charging curve (discharge, charge + discharge ), it is also capable of calculating the average, standard deviation, max or min value, and the data analysis.
System configuration (example)



The example system configuration consists of the charge/discharge system controller "PFX2511", the DC power supply "PWR800L", and the electronic load "PLZ1004W". The dimention of the system may differ depends on the configuration of the selected models. The PFX2121 (communication control unit) is also required for the control by the PC. (USB connection)
The PFX2511 can be configured with the below specified combination. Each of the system configuration is assigned for the specific model ID, The future combination of model ID shall be assigned by upgrading the application software, please visit our website for the latest information.

Q: Is it possible to configure the system with the equipment which are currently used?
If the used equipments are complied to the applicable model of the DC power supply and the electronic load, it is possible to configure the system with the PFX2511 to perform charge and discharge test.

Q: How the adjustment or the calibration can be managed ?
The adjustment is not required when introducing the system. The periodic calibration of the PFX2511 provides securing the traceability of the entire system.
